VET TRAINING, DIGITAL SKILLS, TOURISM AND RETAIL

The European project DIGISETS was carried out in the framework of the Erasmus+ programme with Grant Agreement no. 2020-1-AT01-KA202-078055.

The project aims to address the growing gap between existing digital skills and the required skill profiles in Tourism and Retails sectors and brings together experienced organizations and training providers from Austria (AT), Bulgaria (BG), Spain (ES), and Greece (EL).

The DIGISETS project targets the following objectives:

To conduct research and gathered data to create a comprehensive map or framework of work-relevant digital skills. This involved analysing previous research and existing information.
To design an evaluation toolkit for organizations to assess digital skills. The toolkit will provide a broader view of both hard and soft digital skills in an accessible format. Its primary target audience is trainers working with current or potential employees in the tourism and retail sectors.
To organize a workshop for trainers from participating organizations. The purpose of this workshop is to present the outputs of the project, including the Framework, Toolkit, and Guidelines, for practical testing, feedback, and critical exchange. The workshop will also facilitate networking, discussion, and testing, and will include practical exercises, feedback, and guidance on training offers.

The results of the project consist of:

Digital Competence Framework: A Competence framework of digital skills needed for service workers in the tourism and retail sectors. The Framework serves as the main reference tool for the whole project.
Digital Skill Evaluation Toolkit: The toolkit provides trainers with an online assessment tool for the digital skills of potential employees. The tool is based on an open modular platform, which enables the content and structure of test questions to be adapted to different service sectors and skill levels. The toolkit was initially developed in English and later translated into partner languages.
Guidebook for Trainers: A support tool for trainers to help them in developing training material to enhance digital skills for employees and service workers in the tourism and retail sector.
